The final try came from a Stowmarket scrum put in. Diss won the ball, passed out to James Webster to run the wing dodging tackles then run a try in under the posts. George Jones with the conversion. A final score Diss 31 - Stowmarket 5.
Diss with a greatly reduced pack for the start of the season and then having to fill the places with backs playing out of position, were able hold out and then take control. Stowmarket played hard both forwards and backs but couldn't break through Diss defences, each time being attacked, clung onto and tackled to the ground then stripped of the ball.
A good start and promising setting for the season.
