Hadleigh 41 Diss 17
A sunny mild day after the recent storms saw a tired looking bunch of lads turn up, hung over from the Christmas celebrations. Diss began very lethargically even by their own standards and were 17-0 down by the end of the first ten minutes. Hadleigh scored again, before Joe Hegarty got one back for Diss.
The second half was better as Diss began to play a bit more like themselves, however poor defence allowed further scores for the hosts, who turned over a lot of Diss ball and had some very capable, fast running players.
Thomas Webster and Luke Miller added further tries for Diss, one converted by an excellent touch line kick from Luke Burridge. Diss never looked like winning this one from the off though, but will have a chance of revenge as Hadleigh have promised a return game before the end of the season.
Coach Simon Palmer, in the post-match briefing alluded to work in training that was required and although he was happy with several individual performances, he thought the boys played poorly as a team.
Man of the Match: Angus Germany for his efforts in defence, looping runs and ball handling and side-stepping skills-not bad for a Prop!
