It is fantastic to see Southwold field a full strength side in our age group , a sight we haven't seen for 4 years. Diss knew not to take Southwold lightly as we lined up against a side which included two former Diss players in Archie Ryder and Will Wilcox. Play was fairly even for the first 10 minutes until Wold had a defensive lineout which went astray and Noah Molenaar stole the ball and drove for the line, dropping down to score. 5-0
The Diss scrum was providing consistent ball from the start and when passed out wide Tom Parks-Lewis came into the line from full back and charged through to score 10-0
The forwards were having a commanding game and a well rehearsed lineout move meant that Fred Potter peeled off and crashed over the line to score 15-0. This scoreline remained at half time.
Diss sent on the subs to start the second half and it was the fresh legs of Finlay Martin carried him almost to the Southwold line from the kick off before the ball was passed to Fred Potter to Score 20-0
Shortly afterwards the steady scrum provided more good possession and the ball was passed out wide to Drew Harris to score on the wing 25-0
Unfortunately the Diss discipline was beginning to let them down and with a yellow card for repeated offside Southwold found the space they needed to score 25-7
Diss weren't finished though and the backs attacked the Wold line before popping the ball to Fred Potter to score his hat trick try. 30-7
