Brentwood travelled up from Essex and brought awful weather with them. A return compliment after Diss visited them early in the season. As both teams arrived at the club, the wind got up and the rain started. Again Diss were short of players, the U15s without a game were able to loan five boys, the team thankful for that. The game was agreed to be played of three parts to give Brentwoods large squad decent game time. Already wet and cold the teams set about the task ahead. Diss being driven back early in the game, forced their way out of their corner, broke loose, excellent hands passed the ball along the line for full back Nat Strange to run the wing for a breakthrough try. Kyle Harwood Lefevre filled with an excellent long range conversion to take the lead. It wasn't long that Brentwood equalled the score, driving Diss back for a try and converting. Diss moved into lead again from a penalty kick from George Jones. From there Diss struggled to hold off Brentwood when they found Diss weak area, driving through the middle, slowly topping up their scoreing. A slippery game continued, frustration and niggley cold, were glad to hear the final whistle. As ever Diss fought hard to the end against a much stronger team. Diss being beaten 34 points to 10.
Not a shameful score for Diss as Brentwood are known to e a strong team in their area.
Later that day Brentwood thanked us for a good fun game and a very welcoming club.
